How do I register for the free RBT training?


I already started the RBT training, do I need to restart using the new RBT 2.0 training?

  • The BACB will accept 40-hour training completion certificates that contain current AND 2026 requirements before January 1, 2026. This means that certificates that meet both before and after 2026 requirements and contain the additional 3rd edition Test Content Outline statement will be accepted.
  • Beginning January 1, 2026, the BACB will only accept the 3rd edition Test Content Outline statement on all certificates to meet the new requirement.

How do I log into my RBT training account?


The information on my certificate is incorrect:

  • If you would request a change, click “view certificate” in the email you are sent with the certificate. On the page that opens, select “contact issuer.”
  • Please ensure you provide any information we may need to correct certificate (e.g., BACB ID).

The training will not let me move past the current module and says “coming soon.”

  • The training only allows users to complete about 8 hours each day to align with the BACB’s requirements. Additional content will automatically unlock the following day.

Will I receive a certificate of completion after I finish the RBT training?

  • You will be emailed a certificate upon successful completion of the program. Please check your SPAM folder if not received. All certificates will be digital. We do not mail physical certificates of completion.

My certificate request was rejected what should I do (LEGACY SYSTEM)?


What is my BACB ID number and how do I obtain it?


What is my Unique ID number and how do I obtain it?

  • Your unique ID is the number provided to you on the letter of completion you received via email at the end of the training course. This number begins with, “APF-“


How can I find out more information about the next steps for me in the RBT process?

  • Please visit www.BACB.com to find all the information you need about the RBT application process and requirements.

I was unable to complete the training within 180 days what should I do?

  • In order to meet the 180 day requirement set by the BACB, you would be required to restart the training and complete the training within the required time frame.
  • Please note, if you want to restart the training you will be required to create a new account using a new email address.

How can I complete a competency assessment?

  • APF does not offer a competency assessment. To complete a competency assessment please reach out to an employer or a supervisor with a BCBA certification.

Are Closed Captions available?

  • Yes, our RBT 2.0 training includes closed captions!
  • Please note that closed captioning has been automatically generated. While we strive for accuracy, captions may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations.

Is the training available in multiple languages?

  • The training is currently only available in English, but a Spanish version is coming soon!

Can I obtain a copy of the power point slides used in the 40 hour RBT training?

  • Unfortunately, we do not have the power point slides available for distribute to users.
