Comparing The Teaching Interaction Procedure to Social Stories For People with Autism

Abstract:
This study compared social stories to the teaching interaction procedure to teach social skills to six children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder. Each participant was taught three skills with the teaching interaction procedure and three skills with social stories. In this presentation, Dr. Leaf will go over the procedures utilized in the study and the results of the study. Clinical implications for those working with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder will be discussed.
