The provision of reinforcement to increase the rate of desired behaviors a crucial element of behavior analytic intervention for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Formal preference assessments like the multiple stimulus without replacement procedure are often used to determine potential reinforcers. This study compared the multiple stimulus without replacement procedure to the in the moment reinforcer analysis for four children diagnosed with autism. Dr. Leaf will describe the details and results of the study and provide clinical implications for those who work with autistic individuals.
