Abstract:

This next chapter has a special guest appearances by Dr. Peter Gerhardt and Amy Gravino (www.AmyGravino.com)! During this chapter Justin, Joe, Peter, and Amy will discuss autism and adulthood. The discussion will include the empirical research for adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder ASD, developing meaningful interventions, identifying appropriate goals, and transitions across the lifespan.
Learning Objectives: 

1. 1. At the completion of the training the audience members will identify challenges specific to adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
   2. At the completion of the training the audience members will identify appropriate goals and when these goals should begin to be part of intervention for individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
   3. At the completion of the training the audience members will identify goals to help increase the likelihood of smooth transitions across the life span.
