Providing training opportunities to families, school districts and service providers is a primary focus of the Foundation’s work. Successful outcomes require that parents, teachers, and professionals have knowledge and up-to-date information about ASD and effective strategies that truly make a difference. The Foundation’s training center sponsors workshops, consultation and seminars making training and support available to those who touch the lives of children with ASD.
The Foundation is pleased to sponsor multiple workshops covering a range of topics, including:
- Creating the Receptive Learner
- Advanced Teaching Strategies
- Teaching Social Skills that Change Lives
- 5-Day Hands-On ABA Workshop
- Sexuality and Developmental Disabilities: Having “The Talk”
Bullying at school is a reality faced by many children with ASD. A recent survey of 400 parents conducted by Massachusetts Advocates for Children found that 88 percent of children with ASD have been bullied at school. To help in the fight against bullying, the Foundation offers complimentary training workshops for school districts on Bullying and ASD: The Perfect Storm.
